Carlisle

A teen was left with rent arrears and struggling to buy food during the first Covid lockdown after a woman stole his benefit money.

Chelsea Amelia Tracey, 21, entered into a verbal agreement with the male – then aged 17 – during April, 2020.

A Carlisle mum was scarred for life, had to move house and change her phone number after an attack by her drunken ex-partner.

On the evening of July 1, 32-year-old Craig Boyd was having some drinks with the woman in the living room of her property. Her daughters were upstairs with friends, the city’s magistrates’ court heard.

A Carlisle pensioner has been accused of flouting a restraining order by contacting the woman the order is meant to protect.

Peter Donald Bulman, 77, whose address was given as Stonegarth, Morton, Carlisle, allegedly committed the offence on Monday, November 22, the city’s Rickergate Magistrates’ Court was told.

Workington

An Allerdale councillor has been found guilty of being drunk and disorderly and resisting police.

Maurice 'Will' Wilkinson has today been found guilty and sentenced at West Cumbria Magistrates’ Court for being drunk and disorderly and resisting Cumbria Police.

A Workington man has been given an eight-week curfew for flouting a criminal behaviour order by going into a Workington shop from which he was banned.

Sean McAvoy, 45, committed the offence on November 12, the town's magistrates' court heard.

Whitehaven

Magistrates have imposed a 20-month ban on a woman who was caught drink driving in Whitehaven town centre.

Louise Taylor, 34, of Basket Road, Whitehaven, committed the offence on November 13 as she drove a Vauxhall Corsa in Scotch Street.

A breath test confirmed that she had 72mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.
