Carlisle United have completed two new signings.

Former West Brom midfielder Samir Nabi links up with the Blues on a contract until the end of the season, while striker Ben Tomlinson has joined the Brunton Park outfit on a non-contract basis.

Tomlinson, 27, counts Lincoln City and Barnet among his former clubs, while he also had a loan spell with Barrow in 2016.

He signed for United after training with the club for a week.

"Ben has been with us this week and he's impressed us all with the hunger he's shown to be involved," manager Keith Curle said on United's website.

"He has good habits and dynamics and he likes scoring goals and causing opposition defences as many problems as possible.

"He's integrated quickly and well, and he's shown us he has a good physical presence.

"This is an opportunity for him to add something to our group and to show people that he's ready to kick on again."

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Nabi has also joined Carlisle.

He came through the West Brom youth set-up, before joining Indian Super League outfit Delhi Dynamos last year.

On the signing of the midfielder, Curle said: "Samir has been with us for a couple of weeks and he’s another who has shown a real desire to make a mark.

"He’s had an excellent grounding and he’s another who has something slightly different to what we already have in the group.

"He’s used to playing in a midfield three, where he has licence to get forward and he likes to find the back of the net.

“Joining us at this stage of the season gives him a chance to remind everyone what he’s all about.

"He has physical presence, he won’t shy away from a challenge, he’s good on the ball and he’ll add to the competition for places we need to see."

Sami's brother, Rahis, still plays for West Brom.
