Barrow AFC manager Pete Wild says he has received “apologies” from officials over two of the goals his side conceded in their thrashing at Carlisle United.

The Bluebirds manager made the claim in his latest broadside against refereeing standards.

Wild’s side, who were annihilated 5-1 at Brunton Park last month, went down to another defeat on Saturday at home to Newport County.

The south Cumbrians saw defender Rory Feely sent off before conceding the only goal deep into added time.

Wild blasted ref Sebastian Stockbridge – and also referred to Barrow’s recent game against the Blues.

“I’m going to go in and make sure my point’s made and follow it up in due course because how many decisions have we had?” he said, when speaking to BBC Radio Cumbria.

“After Carlisle I get two apologies for two of their goals.

“After last weekend I get an apology for the penalty they [Colchester] get.

“I’m ringing up every week and getting an apology. How about they do what they’re paid to do and start getting decisions right?”

Wild did not say which Carlisle goals were “apologised” for.

After the game, on January 31, he had said Jon Mellish was “four yards offside” for the opening goal.

His counterpart Paul Simpson later said Barrow had not given Carlisle enough credit for their victory, claiming it was “ridiculous” to suggest the Blues had not carved their opponents open.

Barrow have slipped to 12th after a spell of just one win in ten league games.

Wild added of their setback on Saturday: “That’s injustice of the highest order.

“It’s so hard for me to take having worked all week trying to make us right. It’s so hard for the 3,000 fans who have paid good money to watch that.

“Listen, you want to have a look at it [the sending off] back. It’s embarrassing.

“How you can come to that conclusion is beyond a joke. Unfortunately, he needs investigating for it. He [Stockbridge] needs investigating for what he’s done and that decision because it’s truly unacceptable.

“He [Feely] has gone to block the ball, it’s clear for everyone to see. The decision’s a shambles.

“What gets me is that people have paid good money to see professionals do their jobs and he hasn’t done that.”
