Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is the favourite to become Swindon Town's next manager.

The Robins are looking for a new boss after the departure of Ben Garner, who joined League One side Charlton Athletic.

And Carrick, who also counts West Ham and Tottenham among his former clubs, is now priced at 4/1 with some bookmakers to land the role.

The 40-year-old was most recently on the coaching staff at Old Trafford and served as caretaker manager following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He departed the Red Devils in December 2021 and the bookies now believe he could be in-line for a first role in management at Carlisle's League Two rivals.

Former Aston Villa man Mark Delaney also features highly in the odds, along with former Spurs man Ryan Mason.

Here's some of the other headlines from around League Two:

  • Bradford City defender Paudie O'Connor has joined Lincoln City. The 24-year-old had been offered fresh terms by the Valley Parade side, but has opted to sign a 'long-term' contract with the Imps. Reports had suggested that he was also being monitored by Sheffield Wednesday.
  • Reading are not expected to sign Gillingham defender Jack Tucker. Berkshire Live report that the Royals have cooled their interest in the centre back, with Swansea City, Hull City and Charlton Athletic previously linked with moves.
  • Bolton goalkeeper Joel Dixon had been linked with a move to Barrow - but the Bolton News report that the stopper is not on the radar of the Bluebirds at present.
