Carlisle United revealed their retained and released list yesterday - and fans on Twitter gave us their reaction to the Blues' decisions.

Patrick a gamble worth taking, just needs consistency. Not convinced by Toure, guess time will tell. I hope we are looking for a proven goal scorer and not putting our faith in Zanzala to be that man. Shame for Furman but need to give Dixon and Charters opportunities. (@Halpinforpope)

Can’t really disagree tbh. I like Furman but if he’s not gonna start then right to let him go. Scott while he obviously has potential didn’t do enough in his limited minutes to suggest he’d be a starter. One that maybe needs a season in the NL or NLN playing every week (@parkinsonross)

I'm quite happy with that. I thought Toure would have gone but I'm pleased he hasn't. There is an exciting weapon in there if we can harness his talents. (@scholes_peter)

Overall quite happy, though a lot depends on how many of the players offered contracts actually sign. Shame for Scott but maybe he'll show something in pre-season. I think Toure is a bit lucky and needs to show more on a more consistent basis. (@ticketaddict)

No real surprises. If the contract offers are signed then we have a solid base. May be that Dixon, Charters, Bell have a bigger role next year. 2/3 signings and we will be around the top end. This squad got to the top of the league pre Covid so no overhaul required for once! (@BenJoseph0157)

Refreshing to not have the wholesale rebuild this summer. Added pressure on any new signings as they need to be better than what we have currently to push us up the league. Striker and attacking midfielder needed as priority (@2705TF)

Makes a change from wholesale changes each summer, Beech is a coach so getting continuity with players might not be a bad thing, I think we would still need a CB not convinced by our backups. Goals get you promoted so need to find a striker in the window (@andrewhoddie)

No surprises. Farman has to be a priority. Would be happy to see Anderton and Zanzala stay and I think they will. Patrick I’d rather keep but not at the detriment of getting any of those three signed up - I presume it’s not a great deal. Bemused by the treatment of Cedwyn Scott. (@lewisrids3)

Letting Scott go is stupid, Toure and Patrick (if he resigns) need to have an amazing season to repay the faith shown by Beech. Furman going was obviously but hopefully clears some money for Beno to sign and him and Hayden can get back to being the best CB pairing in the league (@Luke_Graham_)

Happy but I don’t expect all offered to accept. We need a vocal midfielder and defender real leadership but the core of a good team is there (@GreggBulman)

No real shocks tbh but not sure how much ambition this shows (@keithelliott94)

Need more of a goal threat, and better creativity. Get that and the rest will take care of itself. (@dubhead77)

53 minutes game time for Scott, he's binned him purely on training, lad's not been given a fair crack imo. I hope he's not done a Greg Abbott Wells/Madden special. (@thegaffa)

Probably as expected. Can only think Scott hasn’t shown enough in training. Leaves it needing two or three players subject to who stays from those offered contracts. (@MartinScarboro4)
