Carlisle United have offered new deals to six out-of-contract players - and released another two members of the first-team squad.

The Cumbrians have tabled fresh tems to Nick Anderton, Rhys Bennett, Paul Farman, Morgan Feeney, Omari Patrick and Offrande Zanzala.

But the Blues have decided to release Cedwyn Scott and Dean Furman.

It has also been revealed that Gime Toure will be remaining with United for the 2021/22 campaign, with a clause in his contract having been activated before the last game of last season.

It sees the Blues finally confirm their end-of-season decisions as they look ahead to next season.

As expected, United are hoping to keep much of their squad intact.

That means contracts tabled to captain Anderton and fellow defenders Bennett and Feeney, the latter yet to make a first-team appearance after an injury-hit half season in Cumbria.

Farman, first-choice goalkeeper for much of the campaign, is also wanted for a second United campaign, while striker Zanzala has done enough in his half-season stay to earn new terms.

Attacker Patrick, with the Blues for a season and a half, has also been given the chance to stay.

But experienced South African midfielder Furman has been released after struggling for first-team starts during the 2020/21 campaign.

And striekr Scott has also been let go after being limited to brief substitute appearances since his January move from non-league Hebburn Town - a deal which include the agreement of a pre-season friendly between the clubs.

They join first-year pros Charlie Birch, Jamie Armstrong, Tom Wilson, Charlie Barnes and Liam Lightfoot through the exit door at Brunton Park.

Attacker Toure, meanwhile, gets a second season with United under the terms of his deal.

He joins Lewis Alessandra, Jack Armer, Taylor Charters, Josh Dixon, Callum Guy, Aaron Hayden and Joe Riley in having extensions triggered.

They join those already under contract under their original deals - Danny Devine, Brennan Dickenson, Jon Mellish, Rod McDonald, Magnus Norman and George Tanner.

Youth players Lewis Bell and Keelan Leslie are also set to step up to the senior ranks.

United said they will give updates on the deals offered to Anderton, Patrick, Bennett, Zanzala, Farman and Feeney "in due course".
