THE opening date of a new 'authentic' mini Italian bistro has been confirmed.

Mondello is set to be opened by Italian native Marco Bouguila on Brampton's Front Street in the unit previously occupied by Walltown Flowers, with an official opening date now set for Saturday, April 27.

Ahead of the opening, Marco had emphasised the work that is going on to make the new Brampton mini bistro as authentic as possible.

He said: "All the food that customers are going to eat here is going to be imported from Italy, nothing has been produced in Holland or in the UK... it is all going to be hand-picked

"The cheeses, the mozzarella, the tomatoes, even the pastas, the Barilla pasta is all made in Parma and Sicily

"We are also going to serve homemade pizzas with everything from chargrilled vegetables to fungi using fresh garlic and serving Italian red and white wines and Italian Lavazza coffee.

"I want our customers to come here and enjoy the taste of good Italian food, watch Italian programs, and feel like they are in Rome - feel like they are on holiday."
