A MULTI-AGENCY call out took place 'in the search of a high-risk missing person'. 

Maryport Rescue were called out 7:40pm on Saturday (February 26) after being alerted to the situation by Belfast Coastguard. 

The person was eventually found and crews were told to stand down. 

A spokesperson from Maryport Rescue said: "The E.on Spirit of Maryport was launched from our secondary launch point with 4 crew onboard search began from Maryport to Mawbray .

"Also deployed were our lowland search teams who conducted a search along the coastline.

"Other units  in attendance were  Silloth Lifeboat , Maryport and Whitehaven Coastguard and Cumbria Police. 

"A short time into the search the good news came through that the person was found by the Police 

"All teams were stood down and returned to their respective stations," they said.
