A MAN has since died after being pulled from Whitehaven Harbour this morning. 

Cumbria Police and emergency services attended the incident at around 7:50am (February 26) after being alerted to the situation by a member of the public. 

The body has not been identified at this stage.

A spokesperson person from Cumbria Constabulary said: "Cumbria Police and emergency services attended Whitehaven Harbour following report from a member of public with reports of someone in the water. 

"A man was recovered from the water, he was taken to hospital but has since died. 

"Enquiries are ongoing to confirm his identity and how to he came to being in the water," they said.
