AHEAD of the beginning of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, here are seven places where you can watch the action in Carlisle.
The 2022 World Cup officially begins on Sunday, November 20 at 4pm UK time with the hosts Qatar facing group A opponents Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Gareth Southgate's England start their World Cup campaign on Monday, November 21 when they face Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium at 1pm UK time.
To help you make your World Cup plans we have compiled seven places in Carlisle where you can watch the latest footballing extravaganza...
1. William Rufus, Botchergate
A fan-favourite amongst Carlisle's pub-goers, this local branch of JD Wetherspoons will be showing the World Cup matches throughout the tournament.
2. Woodrow Wilson, Botchergate
Adjacent to the William Rufus is Carlisle, and Botchergate's second branch of Wetherspoons which will also be showing the World Cup matches. This comes after providing fans with the oppurtunity to watch the Lionesses win the Women's Euros in the summer.
3. Walkabout, Botchergate
Another fan-favourite on Botchergate will be showing all the World Cup action, as confirmed by a Walkabout spokesperson who said: "As a sports-led bar, big tournaments are always popular and we will be showing all the World Cup games for our local football following fans."
4. The Griffin, Court Square
At the top of Botchergate, The Griffin is a more traditional venue for pub-goers that will be offering pub-grub, a pint... and World Cup action. The Griffin also offers deals for students.
5. The Beehive, Warwick Road
Across Warwick Road from the real home of football, Brunton Park, The Beehive is used to hosting rafts of football fans and this will be no different during the World Cup with televised matches on offer.
6. The Crown, Scotland Road
For those outside the city centre, The Crown is a great option for catching the World Cup action with its 'upmarket' menu and variety of real ales, craft beers and European lagers, there is something for everyone.
7. Club Britannia, Lowther Street
Club Britannia offers free entry and will be showing the World Cup action, making the 'sport and social' pub a good option for those in the city centre looking for options away from Botchergate.
