CARLISLE College has been named construction apprenticeship provider of the year.
The city college cemented it's status as the country's best provider of construction apprenticehips at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards.
The awards ceremony recognises excellence and the achievements of apprentices, providers and employers in the UK construction apprenticeships sector.
The ceremony was held at Future Skills at Media City, Manchester and Carlisle College overcame tough competition from providers up and down the country to take the top prize of Provider of the Year.
Sarah McGrath, principal of Carlisle College spoke about her delight at receving the award.
She said: "We are extremely proud to have been named Construction Apprenticeship Provider of the Year, it is a huge honour to be recognised for the work we do to equip all of our apprentices with the skills and experience they need to succeed in their career.
"We work hard to offer education and skills training that meets the skills needs of our employer partners in Carlisle and across our wider region, supporting our local economy and helping our learners to find real employment opportunities."
