THERE'S been a serious crash on the A66 involving four vehicles, police have confirmed.
The crash, which took place on the A66 between Langrigg and Brough, has resulted in the carriageway being closed for the time being.
Emergency services are on the scene, alongside the air ambulance service.
The incident was first reported at around 11am (July 24).
A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "Cumbria Police are currently attending a four vehicle Road Traffic Collision on the A66 West of Brough.
"At this time the road is blocked in both directions while casualties are assessed and treated," they said.
UPDATE 1:00pm: Road has been reopened, with some delays still expected.
