POLICE are investigating the smashing of windows in a pharmacy in Carlisle.
Dalston Pharmacy’s Bank Street branch in the city centre had its windows smashed three times on three different days.
The window spaces of the popular city-centre pharmacy are now boarded up with wood while staff wait for glass to be installed.
Jill Armstrong, the manager of the Bank Street branch, said: "We had our windows smashed three times in one week.
“It happened the first time on the Jubilee weekend and again on two different days the week after.
“The police are investigating it.”
Mark Spakim, the owner of Dalston Pharmacy and all their branches, added: “The premises next door had some CCTV footage and they passed that on to the police.
“I believe it was the same person each time.”

Mark said the person was filmed banging on the door trying to get in, and then they took a bottle to one of the windows.
Mark continued: “They did the same thing to the same window another day and the same thing to the other, bigger window another day that week.
“Police have clear footage of the person who did it.
“In the meantime we are just waiting for Carlisle Glass to let us know when stock is in for the windows to be installed.
“I think that the staff would be getting seasonal affective disorder after long by working in that dark workplace!”
