PLANS have been lodged to convert a home in Brampton into a holiday let.

Carlisle City Council has received an application to convert 9 Tree Gardens, Brampton into a holiday let.

The use of a dwelling house as a holiday let business requires planning permission when used as such for more than 90 days per year.

The intention is for Aysgarth to provide “quality self-catering accommodation for 4 people.”

Supporting statements submitted with the application report that the business will be in-demand.

“It is a great central base to explore Carlisle, Brampton, Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District and the beautiful local countryside with its many attractions.”

The agent has said that the holiday let will benefit from “good local public transport links” including by car, bus and train.

No physical changes or development are proposed at the property, the number of rooms will remain the same. The proposal is for the change of its use only.

The agent said that the property is already well suited to accommodating guests: “There is clear access to drive or walk onto the private driveway, which is wide with a gradual incline and plenty of space to safely exit a vehicle.

“There is a wide path from the driveway to the front entrance, with one step up along the path.  This then leads to the front entrance, which has seven steps and sturdy handrails on either side.

“As owners, guests know how to contact us and we are happy to assist with any access issues.”
