OVER the Jubilee celebrations, the Rotary in Whitehaven ran the Jubilee Window Dressing competition, with local company Milltech Computers taking the win.

Rotary in Whitehaven contragulated them for their "fantastic window" and mentioned how impressed the judges were with the standard of the competition.

Haven Crafts placed second and Jean's Flower Boutique were in third place.

Milltech Computers window were full of Jubilee themed decorations including bunting, balloons, the Queens jewels, the Queens crown. They even had one window dedicated to past memories of the Queen, and the other side was filled with more modern memories.

Milltech staff were happy their hard work had paid off:

“We were delighted, and over the moon. It was fantastic to win it.”

They also went on to say how much effort went into the process: “I had collected stuff over time but it took me awhile"

The award was presented on the same day as the street party that Miltech were involved in, and one member of staff even dressed up as the Queen:

“I dressed up as the Queen for our street party. Everyone had a great day including the children. They thought I was the Queen!"
