Former Football League striker Scott Fenwick is among three departures from Workington Reds today.

The ex-Hartlepool United frontman has left the Borough Park club along with fellow striker Nico Evangelinos and Brad Hubbold.

They have joined Brad Carroll in exiting Workington following the end of the 2021/22 season.

Evangelinos joined Reds from Ramsbottom, the former club of ex-boss Chris Willcock, last summer.

Fenwick, meanwhile, linked up with the NPL West club in January.

Reds assistant boss Steven Rudd wished both players well as they move on.

"Scott was a great character to have in the dressing room - a great lad who settled in very wel and never missed a session or game," he told the club website.

"Nico had a very frstrating season with injury. He is a top lad, a great character and even when injured for large spells he was a good character to have in the dressing room.

"Nico worked very hard to regain fitness and make himself available for the final few games of the season. His goals per game contribution was excellent.

"I hope he can overcome the injuries he has had and look to have a successful season next year.

"We wish him all the best in future - apart from when he lines up against the Reds..."

The club later announced that midfielder Hubbold had turned down the chance to remain with Reds after three years.

Manager Danny Grainger said he had spoken to the player at length but travel and family commitments had led him to seek a move elsewhere.

Grainger wished Hubbold well and added: "We are obviously disappointed but where one door closes another opens, and myself and Ruddy are already in conversation with players about next season."

Workington recently confirmed the return of Grainger as manager, while the club have confirmed a pre-season friendly against Carlisle United at Borough Park.
