ALMOST 80 local junior students will be performing the musical Matilda at Stanwix Arts Theatre this weekend.

The shows on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 are the culmination of months of work by children aged 7-11 years.

The story was adapted for stage by Denis Kelly and renowned comedian Tim Minchin wrote the music, with favourites such as Naughty, Revolting Children and When I Grow Up.

“The students have loved working on this show and its brilliant characters. We are so lucky to have so many talented young performers and they have really brought the story to life," said show director, Wendy Dunn.
