Carlisle's Danny Christie has signed a multi-fight deal with a top bare-knuckle boxing promoter.

BKFC have announced that the Currock man will face more fights at the elite level of the sport.

Christie has already chalked up three victories in his first BKFC outings and is the reigning British light-heavyweight champion.

The 38-year-old is awaiting his next fight, which is set for the autumn.

BKFC announced the multi-fight deal in a social media video captioned, "It ain't over 'til it's over..." - a line repeated by Christie in the promotional footage.

The Carlisle boxer has made an impressive impact on the bare-knuckle scene with victories over Terry Brazier, Darren Godfrey and Anthony Holmes.

The latter saw him win the UK title belt as he defeated Holmes in his native Yorkshire.

That looked set to earn Christie a shot at world champion Lorenzo Hunt.

But it now appears Christie will have to wait for such an opportunity, with a different American opponent now being lined up.

On his YouTube channel this week, the Cumbrian said: "I have a fight coming up in eight weeks at Milton Keynes.

"I have an American opponent. It's not the world title [fight] that I was looking for but it's a big fight, he's a ranked opponent.

"When I can release and confirm it, I will.

"Nothing's going to stop me on this journey. Whoever they put in front of me I will beat, knock out." BKFC 52 Milton Keynes is being staged on Saturday, September 30.

Christie is this weekend attending a major bare-knuckle event in Whitehaven as a guest.

The WBKB event is taking place at the Copeland Stadium with a ten-fight card.
