Workington Comets manager Tony Jackson hopes his side can start climbing the Premier League table after winning their first home meeting in five weeks, in style.
Comets swatted aside Rye House with a confident performance from all seven riders, notching a 55-35 win while never looking under any pressure.
Comets co-promoter Jackson said: “We didn’t have a last place until heat 13.
“Kenneth was unlucky to come last in heat 15 which was a cracking race and in heat 14 there were some good battles.
“There was some great racing in a good meeting and it was nice to be back racing again.”
The result could prove significant at the end of the season as the Rockets currently occupy the sixth and final play-off place.
Jackson added: “Hopefully, the season starts here after our break and we can get moving up the table and into the top-six.
“We kept our Premier League unbeaten home record with another three points on the board.
“There was solid scoring throughout the team and there wasn’t a weak link.
“Especially after such a long break, it was nice for everyone to make a winning return to the track.”
