Cumbrian players will look to keep up their skills and maintain their competitive edge throughout the summer months.
The league singles knockout competition is sponsored for a fifth consecutive year by Dearham-based Ice Cream confectioner Gray’s as the players compete for the “Gray’s Luxury Ice Cream Trophy”.
Last summer saw Maryport’s Mike Park edge out Workington’s Ryan Ismay by a single point, with Cockermouth’s Andrew Mitchelhill finishing third.
The WNR summer league schedule consists of home and away fixtures in a league format of promotion and relegation with each match of five frames in length, with one win bonus point for the victor.
The Gray’s Luxury Ice Cream Trophy singles knockout tournament runs in parallel with the league schedule.
Entry is available to any player with a home venue based in either the Allerdale or Copeland constituencies.
All entry fees are redistributed as prize money.
The entry fee is still £15 for the eighth year running with the closing date for entries is June 2. The season will begin the week commencing Monday, June 5.
