Regan Slater is out to get one over on his former club when the former Carlisle United midfielder comes up against the Blues tomorrow.

Slater is now with League Two's bottom side Scunthorpe after making a season-long loan move from Sheffield United.

The 19-year-old made 41 appearances for the Cumbrians last term and says he knows what to expect from Steven Pressley’s side.

Slater said on the Iron website: “I know how they play. I know they have good quality and they’ll be very good on the counter-attack. They have a lot of energy.

“Everyone has weaknesses, so we’ll look to exploit them.”

Scunthorpe boss Paul Hurst could hand a debut to former Carlisle striker Jamie Proctor, who today joined on loan from Rotherham.

The forward scored four goals in 19 Blues appearances in 2017, including the dramatic winner at Exeter on the final day which clinched a play-off place.

New loan defender Junior Brown could also feature for the Iron.

Kevin Van Veen could return from injury but Lee Novak remains sidelined, while James Perch is suspended.
