Rob Elliot said Carlisle United are monitoring certain players with illness ahead of this weekend’s trip to Boreham Wood.
The Blues head coach said certain players have been affected in recent days.
Elliot said the individuals concerned will be assessed closely before United take on the National League leaders on Saturday.
He said Regan Linney and Jonah Lowes were among the players to be affected in recent times.
“We’ve had it for a couple of weeks,” Elliot said.
“You know what these things are like – it bounces around.
“Young Jonah missed the weekend [Monday’s game against Scunthorpe United], Regan’s been ill before, and a few others.
“For the weekend we’ll just see how everyone us. We need the fittest, strongest team available.”
On the injury front, Toby Mullarkey looks set to miss out on another game this weekend while Kenton Richardson is unlikely to return to the squad on Saturday.
United are still awaiting further clarity on Mullarkey’s calf problem, Elliot said.
“He’s having a scan this week and then we'll see where he's at,” said the Carlisle boss.
“It feels like a dead calf. He's never had a muscle injury before so it's a bit new to him but we'll see what the results come back as, and take it from there.
“He doesn't think it's too bad, but we'll just always check first.”
Defender Richardson has missed the last three games and Elliot suggested Boreham Wood will come too soon for the former Gateshead man, although a return to action looks very close.
“He [Richardson] has been back on the grass, and he should be back training after Boreham Wood,” said the Carlisle boss.
“We’ll then have to see if he's alright for Southend [the following weekend].
“It’s been a bit frustrating for Kenton, he's had this little niggling [problem], but hopefully when he's back it strengthens us again and we're in a good position [at the back], especially with Morgs [Morgan Feeney] getting a couple of games under his belt.”
Other players still sidelined include Callum Whelan, Elliot Embleton, Luke Armstrong, Bevis Mugabi and Harvey Macadam.
Elliot added that, in light of some of Carlisle’s injuries, he is pleased to have a number of adaptable players available.
“What I'm pleased with is that [in the squad] now we’ve got some really good players who can come in and affect it,” he said.
“You look at the likes of Jack Ellis who was absolutely superb [on Monday]. He just adds so much – he can play in multiple positions and that's massive to us.
“Cammy [Harper] has done it for us, Galvs [Ryan Galvin] can, [Stephen] Wearnie who was great at the weekend…it's good to have as many players in the squad fit and hungry and be able to support us, so when we do have the moments where we're missing one or two, or we might be a bit unbalanced we can fill them with lads who are fit and ready.”
