Whitehaven Rugby League has signed two new players on week-long loan deals.
The club will welcome St Helens duo Cole Marsh and Luca Walsh ahead of this Sunday’s Betfred Championship clash against Swinton Lions.
They join fellow Saint Alfie Sinclair, who has extended his loan for a further week after debuting in last weekend’s defeat to Dewsbury.
Whitehaven coach James Newton said: "It’s great to get Alfie, Luca and Cole over the line for this week, they have all come through a great system at St Helen’s.
"Alfie was excellent last week, both in defence and attack and played some really big minutes for us, showing great leadership.
"Cole will come in and strengthen us through the middle, and Luca will cover the half position, which we have been trying to cover for a couple of weeks now with Jack Newbegin being sidelined.
"We are going to be covering players with knocks right up until Sunday, so these guys will be a great boost to us. I would like to thank Saints for supporting us and welcome all three of them to the club."
Marsh, 20, plays as a hooker or loose forward, joined St Helens at 14, and has progressed through their scholarship and under-18 programmes.
He established himself in the reserves last season and has made six appearances in 2026, scoring two tries.
Marsh was also named 18th man for St Helens in their Super League round eight victory against Hull FC.
Walsh, a 19-year-old French half-back, joined St Helens after a three-week trial during which he played for both the under-18s and reserves.
He has made seven reserve appearances in 2026, scoring three tries and 15 goals.
Also set to feature this weekend is Alfie Briggs, who is on loan from Wakefield Trinity and made his debut in the Dewsbury match.
However, Whitehaven have suffered a setback with Rowan Stephenson, who joined on a two-week loan last week.
Stephenson sustained an ankle injury in the final training session before the Dewsbury game.
Whitehaven confirmed that he has now returned to Trinity for treatment.
