Bookmakers are giving Carlisle United the edge as the Blues chase a fourth straight win at Hartlepool United tonight.

Mark Hughes' third-placed Carlisle head to the north east to face Nicky Featherstone's play-off chasing Pools.

An away win is priced 6/5 by BetMGM, with other Carlisle victory odds including 11/10 (Bet365), 23/20 (SpreadEx) and 15/13 (UniBet).

The Monkey Hangers are 21/10 (Betway) to inflict defeat on Hughes' side, with other prices for a home victory including 2/1 (BetFred), 9/5 (BetMGM) and 19/10 (Ladbrokes).

The draw at the Prestige Group Stadium is 27/11.

Carlisle striker Luke Armstrong tonight returns to face the side he helped to National League promotion back in the 2020/21 season.

The in-form Blues frontman is 11/2 to open the scoring against his former club, 17/10 to score at any stage in the game and 50/1 for a hat-trick against his old employers.

Fit-again Regan Linney is 100/30 to get the opener for Carlisle, with David Ajiboye 7/1, former Pools target Stephen Wearne 17/2, Chris Conn-Clarke 6/1 and ex-Hartlepool man Charlie Wyke 11/2.

Longer shots for the first goal include Harvey Macadam at 14/1, Elliot Embleton at 12/1, Jack Ellis at 28/1 and Bevis Mugabi at 40/1.

Morgan Feeney, meanwhile, is 9/1 to score for a third successive game, and 25/1 for the opening goal.

For Hartlepool, Alex Reid is 13/2 to open the scoring, with Tyrese Sinclair 11/1 and Jamie Miley 20/1.

Former Carlisle players Adam Campbell and Tom Parkes are 17/2 and 50/1 for the opening goal respectively.

United have scored three goals in each of their last three games, and are 10/3 to get three or more this evening.

A repeat of their 3-1 win over Pools in their last meeting in October - and also their last trip to Victoria Park in 2022 - has odds of 16/1.

A 1-0 away win is 8/1, as is a 2-1 Blues triumph, with a 3-0 victory 20/1.

Hartlepool's last win over Carlisle came in August 2021 when the Monkey Hangers defeated Chris Beech's Blues 2-1. A repeat of that scoreline in the hosts' favour is 10/1.

A 1-0 Pools win is 10/1 while a 2-0 victory is 16/1.

A 1-1 draw is priced 6/1 and 2-2 is 12/1.
