A former Carlisle United player is one of the casualties of struggling Barrow's latest managerial change.
The Bluebirds last night sacked Paul Gallagher and his assistant, the ex-United loan midfielder John Welsh, after just five games in charge.
The south Cumbrian club have now turned to former Stevenage, Oldham Athletic and Burton Albion boss Dino Maamria to try and guide them to League Two safety.
Welsh, who was with Carlisle for a spell on loan from Hull City in the 2008/09 season, had only joined Barrow in early January to be Gallagher's No2 after the latter's appointment as head coach.
But five defeats from five games have seen the Holker Street board act, with their season in crisis.
They sit third bottom and just three points above the relegation zone.
"We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Paul and John for their hard work and efforts whilst in their posts and wish them the best of luck in any future endeavours," said Barrow as they announced the managerial change.
Maamria was duly appointed as their third boss of the season, following Gallagher and Andy Whing, who was sacked in December.

The 54-year-old will take charge for the first time against Colchester United on Saturday.

“It’s a terrific club that I’ve watched from afar and I know a lot about the players who I’m excited to get to work with.
“The situation I come into is something I have been in before and I can never promise to win every week, but my teams will always show heart, desire and passion and cover every blade of grass.
“It’s so important we all work together, players, staff and the supporters and make a team that will do the town proud.”
Another former Carlisle player has made a dugout move, with ex-Blues defender Danny Butterfield joining Hednesford Town as assistant manager to Kelvin Davis.
