DONS GO EXTRA MYLE

AFC Wimbledon have snapped up Stockport County promotion-winner Myles Hippolyte.

The attacking midfielder, part of the Hatters squad that has risen from the National League to League One in three seasons, was released at the end of last season.

Hippolyte, 29, has signed a two-year deal in south London. ““He has a wealth of experience and, really importantly, he knows what success at this level looks like,” said boss Johnnie Jackson.

MIXED NEWS FOR DONNY

Doncaster Rovers have secured the future of star attacker Luke Molyneux on a new three-year deal.

But they have been dashed in their attempts to sign former loan winger Hakeeb Adelakun.

And midfielder Harrison Biggins has also turned down an offer to extend his stay at the Yorkshire club.

FLYNN TIPPED FOR ROBINS POST

Michael Flynn looks set to take charge of a second team of Robins in the space of five months.

The former Swindon Town boss is in line for the vacancy at Cheltenham Town, according to GloucestershireLive.

Flynn left Swindon in January but the former Newport County and Walsall chief is poised to succeed Darrell Clarke at Cheltenham.

MARINERS BLAST RACISM

Grimsby Town have issued a statement condemning racist abuse after their signing of ex-Barrow defender Tyrell Warren.

The Mariners said they are “appalled by a comment made on social media”.

“The club has begun an investigation working with the relevant authorities and supported by our Designated Football Police Officer,” added Grimsby.

ALEX DEFENDER IS A DON

MK Dons have unveiled former Crewe Alexandra defender Luke Offord as their latest signing.

The 24-year-old has become MK’s second summer signing after departing Crewe, where he had come through the academy.

“For 24, he's an incredibly versatile defender and has already played a lot of football in both League One and Two while also being trusted with the captaincy of his former team,” said MK manager Mike Williamson.

ROVERS EYE SCOTTISH DEFENDER

Tranmere Rovers are reportedly interested in Cameron Harper, the Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender.

The 22-year-old is on the Wirral club’s radar, according to the Daily Record.

Caley, under Duncan Ferguson, have just been relegated to Scottish League One.

BANTAMS MAN PLAYS CARDS

Timi Odusina has left Bradford City to join National League club Woking.

The defender has joined the Cards, where he had been on loan last season, for an undisclosed fee.

He made just seven appearances in two years at Valley Parade and now looks to kickstart his career in Surrey.

FORMER EXILES MAN ON THE MOVE

Newcastle United’s former Newport County loan man Matty Bondswell is looking for a new club.

He has confirmed that he’s leaving the Magpies.

The versatile player, 22, made 40 appearances for the Rodney Parade club last term.

BARROW BOSS RUNNING

Leighton Baines remains high in the betting to replace Pete Wild at Barrow.

The Everton coach is 6/4 with PariMarch for the top job at Holker Street.

Gary Bowyer is 3/1 with Wild’s assistant Adam Temple 4/1. Former second favourite Keith Curle has drifted to 20/1.

SHRIMPS FANS SET FOR SHOWDOWN

Morecambe supporters are set to meet club owner Jason Whittingham amid concerns over the Shrimps’ future.

The Shrimps Trust will have a virtual meeting with Whittingham, of the Bond Group.

It follows a recent call by the club’s board for Whittingham to accept a takeover offer from an American party to avert further crisis at Morecambe.
