Barrow have parted company with Pete Wild after differences of opinion over the future of the club, it has been confirmed.

After a period of speculation over the manager's future, the club have announced his departure.

Wild, in his second season in charge, led Barrow into the League Two promotion race in 2023/24 only to miss out on the play-offs on the last day of the season.

Despite their recent progress, the former FC Halifax Town boss has now left Holker Street.

In a statement, the south Cumbrian club said: "Following a post-season review Barrow AFC can confirm that it has today parted company with their manager Pete Wild.

"It became apparent during the review that the club and Pete had different perspectives on the way forward, so it was mutually agreed that this was the best and most appropriate way to proceed.

"We wish Pete well in his future endeavours."

Barrow added that Wild's backroom staff remain in place.

They will report to sporting director Iain Wood, who is leading the search for a new boss.

Barrow added they are seeking a "head coach".

Wild had joined the Bluebirds in the summer of 2022, and in his first term at the helm guided Barrow to ninth.

The following campaign they were in the running for a top-seven place for most of the campaign.

But a run of two points from their last seven games saw them miss out on a play-off place by a point.

His departure comes nearly a month after the end of the 2023/24 campaign, and a day after the Bluebirds announced their first summer signing in goalkeeper Wyll Stanway from Chester.
