PARKSIDE football team has gone on to win the County Cup in their first season.
The team, which represents the Parkside Hotel in Cleator Moor, beat Northside on Sunday, May 5, at Borough Park.
The side came away with an impressive 5-3 victory, with Dean Fearon of the Parkside Hotel calling it a 'highlight of the season.'
Mr Fearon said: "It's fantastic in your first season, we knew we had a good team at the start and knew we'd be in with a chance of winning it just with the squad numbers and how good they were in strength and depth.
"It'd be good to retain the County Cup next season and hopefully go for the league as well.
"We lost the league by a small margin to Northside because we couldn't fill the same sort of players every week.
"Getting the County Cup was one of the highlights of the season by far. But we've beaten Northside away when we had ten men and obviously, they did the same to us at home when we had ten men so it evened it up."
