For the first 80 minutes on Saturday it was almost like the good old days. But the remainder was all too familiar in recent times.

The punch in the solar plexus, when the almost inevitable equaliser hit the net, was as tough to take as any this season. Picking up a point should have been a decent return against a top ten side, but it felt as bad as any defeat.

The #onecarlisleonecommunity day going on around Saturday’s game saw the CUOSC gazebo take on the elements in the Fanzone. There were some good conversations had with supporters. It was great to see the next generation of Carlisle fans enjoying a game of cornhole at the stand. United legend Derek Mountfield also turned out to be a bit of a natural at the game, who knew?!

The ticket offer for the Stevenage game perhaps did not have the bumper effect it would have in more fruitful seasons but still saw a healthy Brunton Park crowd.

We received a number of communications in relation to the price increases on the day. CUOSC are not involved in operational decisions such as this, but we have made supporters’ views clear to the club, that we didn’t agree with this decision to end the promotion price at midnight on Friday.

We have encouraged the club to review this policy for future ticket promotions.

Don’t forget the next home game with Lincoln City on Bank Holiday Monday is the first ‘Retro Shirt Day.’ Whether it is the 74/75 stripe, A Sealy classic or any iteration of the famous deckchair, we would love to see the crowd a wash with the colour of a range of United threads from down the years.

The ‘Future of CUOSC’ Survey is still available online at until the end of the month if you haven’t had chance to complete it yet.

It really will only take a couple of minutes of your time and can help us to shape the organisation to provide the best for our fans in the coming years. It is open to both members and non members.

Visit our website to join and be a part of that CUOSC future. It currently costs £10 for an adult and £5 for seniors and under-18s.
