A new south west group of Carlisle United's long-established supporters' club London Branch has been formed.

The group are aiming to establish a strong presence for United fans in the south west of England, with travelling arrangements to games and social events among the plans.

The new group hosted United manager Paul Simpson at a question and answer session before last month's away game against Bristol Rovers.

About 45 fans attended the event in central Bristol on Friday, March 23, the evening before United's 2-1 defeat at the Memorial Stadium.

Simpson, said the London Branch, told the audience about Carlisle's struggles in League One, with areas discussed including the difficulties of summer recruitment, Carlisle's January signings, arrivals that didn't happen, injuries and planned new training facilities.

He also thanked fans for their continued support in a difficult season.

The event was organised by Kris Foster, who is the regional organiser for the new south-west group, along with London Branch vice-chair John Bowman.

“It was great to see so many local fans at the event and augurs well for our new group," said Foster.

"We are looking to offer travelling options, socials and communication to make the most of our location.”

Members of the new group will also be entitled to the normal benefits of being a London Branch member, including ticket priority for major games (after season ticket holders), 10 per cent discount in the Blues Store, ticket purchase scheme for away games, pre-match meeting pubs, newsletter, Hit The Bar! fanzine, 40 club membership, online and pre-match events, annual summer trip and weekends away, and fundraising for projects to benefit young fans and players.

First year adult membership to the end of season 2024/25 is £10 with Under 25/Student £5. To join visit https://membermojo.co.uk/cusclb.
