Former Carlisle United striker Charlie Wyke made a deadline-day move to the Championship.

The Wigan Athletic frontman linked up with Rotherham United on loan.

Wyke made the switch to the Millers shortly after Rotherham striker Georgie Kelly moved to Carlisle permanently.

Wyke had himself been the subject of speculation linking him with a return to Brunton Park.

But instead he has joined the Championship's bottom club until the end of the season.

The deal sees 31-year-old Wyke reunited with his former Wigan boss Leam Richardson.

The man who starred for the Blues from 2015 to 2017 has scored eight goals in 22 appearances for Wigan in League One this season.

Rumours connected Wyke with a Carlisle comeback during the winter but United on deadline day went for Irish striker Kelly on a three-and-a-half year deal from Rotherham.
