Carlisle United's next opponents Oxford United have also gone into the market for a new goalkeeper.

The U's, ahead of Saturday's trip to Brunton Park, have brought in Chelsea's Jamie Cumming on loan.

It means there will be a new keeper involved on both sides this weekend with Carlisle having confirmed the permanent arrival of Bradford City's Harry Lewis.

Former England youth international Cumming, 24, has linked up with Oxford until the end of the season, having had previous loan spells at Stevenage, Gillingham and MK Dons.

He has been drafted in after previous U's No1 James Beadle was recalled by parent club Brighton & Hove Albion.

Oxford head coach Des Buckingham, on the club website said: "Jamie is a really good keeper.

"Lewis Price, our goalkeeping coach, worked with him at MK and rates him very highly.

"We knew James Beadle might be recalled by Brighton so had been talking to Chelsea for a while. It’s great that we’ve got this signed and completed ahead of the weekend.”

Cumming is a second new face in at Oxford this week after they signed attacker Tyler Burey on loan from Danish club Odense.
