CEO LEAVES TYKES

Barnsley have confirmed the departure of their chief executive, Khaled El-Ahmad.

The Tykes plan to appoint a new CEO and sporting director as part of a “restructure”.

Chief revenue officer Jon Flatman and academy director Bobby Hassell are acting CEO and acting director of football respectively.

EVANS FOR MILLERS?

Steve Evans, who has guided newly-promoted Stevenage into League One’s top four, is being linked with one of his former clubs.

Rotherham United are seeking a new boss after sacking Matty Taylor.

The Rotherham Advertiser say Evans, who managed the Millers from 2012 to 2015, is among the names under consideration after Nathan Jones turned down the job.

TOP TIERS EYE RAMS STAR

Derby County’s Eiran Cashin is being linked with a move to the Premier League or Championship.

The defender, 22, has impressed for the Rams this season and his displays have not gone unnoticed.

TeamTalk report that Middlesbrough and Birmingham City are keen on Cashin, along with Premier League trio Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and West Ham United.

ROBINS LINKED WITH U’S MIDFIELDER

Bristol City boss Liam Manning is being tipped to return to former club Oxford United for Cameron Brannagan.

TeamTalk say the former Liverpool midfielder is wanted in a January move by the Robins.

Brannagan has been a key man in Oxford’s rise to third, with Des Buckingham the new boss at the Kassam Stadium.

ROYALS STAFF PAID…EVENTUALLY

Crisis-hit Reading have paid their non-playing staff four days late.

The Reading Chronicle reports that the Royals, whose owner Dai Yongge is facing an EFL investigation and fan protests, did not pay off-field staff in full initially.

But the balance was paid on Monday, the newspaper understands.

NO MORE DEPARTURES, SAYS NEW GAS BOSS

Bristol Rovers’ new boss Matt Taylor says he will be working with the club’s existing coaches.

Former caretaker Andy Mangan has left the Gas but other staff will remain.

“I'm working with the coaches which are currently in place at the football club,” Taylor said via BristolLive ahead of his first game in charge at Crawley Town in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

TEENAGE GOALSCORER SIGNS UP WITH ADDICKS

Charlton Athletic have handed a professional contract to 17-year-old forward Micah Mbick.

The youngster scored his first senior goal for the Addicks in their recent FA Cup first round replay 6-1 win at Cray Valley Paper Mills.

Boss Michael Appleton told the club’s website: “He’s got a maturity about him that’s beyond his years, he’s a clever boy and he’s someone we’re really excited to work with in the long-term.”

POMPEY HOPEFUL ON STRIKER INJURY

Portsmouth hope Colby Bishop will only be out for a month after the striker suffered an ankle injury.

There were fears of a long lay-off for the prolific frontman following the injury in a game against Burton Albion.

But boss John Mousinho said they expect Bishop to be out for “about a month”, adding: “We’re sending him for a second opinion because we’re relatively positive on it.”
