The message is clear – there has never been a better time to join CUOSC.

This time it didn’t come from us, but from the club’s new owners.

American Tom Piatak and family were explaining their plans and vision for the Blues in more detail this week.

And he promised the family would encourage and welcome CUOSC’s input even though we have agreed to reduce our shareholding.

He said: “We wanted a club that had the fans’ support and part of the ownership. It was important to us.

“We’re going to be working with them very closely, as we have been – Matt Spooner the chairman, we have a great relationship with, and we want to continue to build upon that.

“We want their input and assistance. We appreciated their help in getting some of the quick wins done, and we want to have a close relationship with them as we build towards the future.”

Those words were music to our ears. We are determined to be the voice of the fans and know that if can continue to increase our membership the louder that voice will be.

It is easy to join via our website at www.cuosc.org.uk and it costs just £10 for an adult for a year and £5 for seniors and under-18s. We currently have 1,200 members.

We have been talking to the Piataks for many months and were delighted to see the takeover come to fruition against Charlton at the weekend.

It was a day some of our board members thought they might never see and I’m sure, like many fans, they had a tear in their eye as the Piataks were given a huge reception before the game.

This week voting has been taking place for the election of four board members to the CUOSC board.

The result will be announced before our AGM on Sunday. It is being held in Foxy’s restaurant at Brunton Park from 1pm (doors open at 12.30) and will also be streamed.

Eight members have put their name forward. They are Nigel Davidson and Carol Wilson who are standing for re-election. The others are Mike Denovellis, Gerard Gornall, Richard Mullen, Ross Parkinson, Martin Robson and Claire Winder.
