Carlisle United's Brunton Park taking shape for Piataks' first game

As the American family arrived at Brunton Park this afternoon, the stadium was being prepared for Saturday's home clash with Charlton Athletic.

The game, three days after the takeover was completed, is set to be a major occasion.

And new features both inside and outside the ground will be visible to supporters.

United's fan zone on the west side of the ground now has a number of covered marquees.

And a huge big screen was being installed in that area on Friday afternoon.

New displays around the area, including those bearing the Piataks' slogan 'Own The North', have also been installed.

And that phrase also features on flags which have been set up in the seated areas of the ground, while United say foam hands and clappers will also be in place.

Other facilities being put in place include some portable toilets for fans in the Warwick Road End - where facilities have long been a bone of contention among supporters.

These changes are the earliest signs of a revamp of United's ground which is set to gather pace during the Florida family's ownership.

The six-strong family flew in to Manchester today before making the journey to Carlisle ahead of the Charlton game, which is set to attract a bumper attendance.

The family will be in the fan zone from 12.30pm as well as United's lounges and bars, before appearing on the pitch at 2.40pm.
