Carlisle United's supporters' trust believe the club has gone into the "right hands" with the Piatak family.

And CUOSC have spoken of their delight that their involvement in the deal has resulted in a successful conclusion to the takeover talks.

United's trust, whose voting share in CUFC Holdings will reduce from 25.4 per cent to ten per cent, have played an influential part in discussions.

CUOSC were heavily involved in courting the Piataks from the outset while their members voted overwhelmingly in September to back the Florida family's proposals for the club.

The trust issued a statement after the confirmation of the deal.

"CUOSC are delighted that after months of planning and negotiations with the Piatak family, a deal has been concluded for what promises to bring a bright future to Carlisle United," the statement said.

"Our interactions with the Piatak family have been constructive and always encouragingly positive.

"We feel confident that CUOSC have played our part on behalf of all fans of Carlisle United, in ensuring that the club is being transferred into the right hands.

"The future sustainability of Carlisle United has always been of paramount importance in the long search for suitable investment in the club and this has been at the forefront of our minds throughout this process.

"We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the new ownership and welcome Tom, Patty, Tom II, Alice, Nick and Jenna to the Carlisle United Family with open arms."

It has been confirmed that CUOSC will retain its fan representative positions on both boards at Brunton Park under the new regime.

That sees Billy Atkinson remain as a director of the club's Holding company CUFC Holdings, and Nigel Davidson continuing as a director of United's 1921 operational board.

Atkinson is joined on the new CUFC Holdings board by Tom snr and Patty Piatak, and Davidson is joined on the 1921 board by all six Piatak family members - Tom snr, Patty, Jenna, Tom II, Alice and Nick DeMasi - plus existing directors Nigel Clibbens, John Nixon and Suzanne Kidd.
