WE shared the news that Carlisle City have made history by reaching the third round of the FA Vase for the first time.
The win came after Jordan Palmer's early City goal had been cancelled out by Cheadle's Wealth DaSilva at City's Three Rivers Health & Safety Consultancy Stadium (Gillford Park).
The win saw City go one better than their Vase run of 2021 when they reached the second round proper before falling to Abbey Hey.
Here's how readers reacted to the good news.
The Facebook page Office Technology Corporation Limited said: "Well done Carlisle City FC," and Michael Trotter said their success was 'awesome'.
Beryl Dawson said: "Well done City, excellent game."
Peter Jones said: "Well done onwards and upwards," and Dave Warwick said: "Brilliant achievement Blues. Well done to all involved."
William Murray and Elaine Kielty also congratulated Carlisle City FC on the achievement.
Also on the Cumbrian non-league scene, Workington Reds' return to league action saw Danny Grainger's side lose a seven-goal thriller at Guiseley.
Jamie Devitt's first goal for the club from the penalty spot came between goals from Steven Rigg and David Symington for the west Cumbrians.
But a Guiseley hat-trick from Gabriel Johnson and an Aiden Walker goal saw the Yorkshire side prevail in the Northern Premier League Premier Division clash.
