It was the third consecutive game watched by Tom snr and Patty as the Jacksonville family's takeover moves ever closer.

The family, via their Castle Sports Group business, had said on Friday that it had been a "very positive and productive" week of talks about United's future.

"Tough loss today - However the future is very bright - Up the Blues ! We will be back for the 11/25 Charlton match - wouldn’t miss that match!!!" they posted.
