CARLISLE United's potential takeover is still looking 'positive' according to Blues boss Paul Simpson.

Simpson provided the latest update on the potential incoming of the American Piatak family after his side completed a second-half comeback to defeat in-form Burton Albion at Brunton Park.

Tom Piatak Snr. and his wife Patty Piatak were in attendance for the chilly Carlisle evening fixture after what has been described as a 'positive' week in the takeover process by Blues chief executive Nigel Clibbens, with a resolution of the club's debut situation with Purepay Retail limited being 'close'.

"I haven't got anything to report," Simpson said.

"I think I am going to be speaking to them tomorrow if they are not still here tonight but I am led to believe everything is still positive.

Simpson also explained how the positive performances from his side in consecutive games constitute a fantastic advert for the club to their prospective new owners whilst also challenging his side to build on their Brunton Park showing against Burton.

"It's brilliant. I thought Saturday at Portsmouth was as well," He said.

"I know that Tom and Patty were at Portsmouth at the weekend so they have seen two solid performance, unfortunately, only one of them have got three points for us, now we need to take that into the weekend.

"This is just one that has put us into a better position where were before the game in terms of total points but I want more, we have got to demand that sort of standard and level of performance every single game but improve even more if we want to achieve something."
