BURTON Albion manager Dino Maamria has issued his verdict on the Brewer's 2-1 defeat at Brunton Park.

Burton came into the clash as one of League One's most in-form sides, on a seven-match unbeaten streak and winning four on the bounce.

Despite this momentum that was behind the visitors, they were limited to just 36 per cent possession at Brunton Park and were penned back within their own half for a large period of the goal as they defended their lead which was handed to them against the run of play by Mark Helm in the first-half.

However, in the face of Carlisle's clear dominance, Maamria expressed his belief that the Blues' goals came 'from nothing'.

"The players gave everything they've got but I'm disappointed at how we conceded both goals because both goals came when we were really organised.

"The goals came from nothing really.

We had comfortable possession, gave the ball away, and conceded two counter-attacks.

Away from his assessment of the match, the Burton boss also admitted that his side 'came short' with Carlisle deserving their eventual win.

"I've got no complaints with the result tonight," He said.

"We came short and we could've knicked a draw but I think they deserved the win and we'll learn from it and move forward.

"We had one point after seven games but it's the football league with a lot of football matches with lots of highs and lows but the mentality has always been to focus on the next game and that's what we do."
