Carlisle United fans gave us their reactions on X to the 1-0 defeat to Leyton Orient - here is a selection of their views.

Very disappointing. Second best for much of the game. Set aside the 'cup' games such as Bolton, it's these games we need to take the points from to stay up. This wasn't good enough. Simmo needs the players to realise this, and soon. (@BruceVander)

A packed Orient midfield forced us to play a high line and gifted them a breakaway goal. We worked hard, but credit to the O’s they telegraphed everything we did. See you at Fratton Park next Saturday, it’s only 360 miles: let’s hope for a 360 degree turnaround in performance. (@AyeCumbrian)

Better second half but a poor first has cost us. Struggled to create much. Orient deserved the win but gutted we couldn’t force that equaliser. (@fish_blues)

Bang average all over the pitch, hard to believe it was the same team as last week. Fin Back had an absolute beast as well which was a shame coz he’s usually solid. (@Tommo249)

Had some decent movement in 2nd half but same again nobody could finish. Simmo has his hands tied with subs. Basically nobody that can make a difference when brought on. Garner needs to stop constantly yapping at refs. Not sure why Gibson came off? Trying to stay positive (@Davvytommo)

Squad simply isn’t good enough at this level. One mistake and we lose 1-0 as we lack any creativity. Mirrored England. Too slow to advance and no idea how to breach a solid defence. (@hatkinson5527)

Out thought, then out fought. Orient packed the midfield, blocked the long option with the big lads at the back and let us have possession in defence. They came for a point and nicked 3 by being quick and decisive on the counter. Two things we weren’t at any point going forward! (@MarkWhitfield2)

Very poor, slow to start, slow decision making, poor passing, lacking in ideas, terrible defending, awful first half again, no goalscorers with no flair, better second half but still not good enough. (@Dougmcd9826)

Clearly weren’t able to recruit to the right level in preseason and we’ll be up against it until we get another shot at it in January. Hopefully we’ll be able to do better then. At the moment January seems an awfully long way off. Poor all round today. (@XMartinHorne)

Terrible display today, if we don’t have a huge overhaul in January transfer window then we are in big trouble. How many more games will Maguire start ? He’s just not good enough and offered nothing today. (@beetler43)

Just not good enough today and no strength on the bench (@Paul21281685)

Unfortunately this is Carlisle and as sure as night follows day, disappointment follows elation. Orient gave us no room in front of goal or time in midfield where they forced us into poor passing. Maguire and Garner had a torrid time up front but stats say we had 59% posession - but with 18 fouls to them and 6 to us seems they were determined to stop us. Another poor goal to concede is the difference (LindaNi121202)

It was Yogi Berra who said "It's like déjà vu all over again." I am reliving season 62-63, and unless we can get our next Hughie Mac (plus maybe 1 or 2 others?) on board earlier than March this time we may well have a sinking feeling. COYB. (@NotInSeddon)

What a shame after last Saturday. Orient were much quicker, our 1st half was laboured. Horrible mistake by Holy for goal then he makes two fantastic saves. Their keeper made some fantastic saves but in the end we just weren't good enough. Officials as usual pathetic. Up the Blues (@ericgreen866)

Yet another goalkeeping mishap cost us the match! (@Carliol1)

Disappointing after last week, not sharp enough today, giving the ball away regularly ie (Fin Back) did not help. Orient were nothing much but defended well. It is going to be a difficult season, with survival the goal. (@peterjo91525330)
