And members of the American family who are seeking to buy the Blues were sporting United's striking away colours as they joined travelling fans.

Alice, Jenna and Tom Piatak II plus Nick DeMasi all wore the 'fruit salad' away colours as they made the trip to Adams Park.

Jenna and fiance Nick plus Tom II's wife Alice all wore the famous pink, black and yellow away shirt, Tom II and Alice also donning fruit salad bucket hats.

Tom Piatak snr and wife Patty are starting a holiday but remain confident about sealing a takeover deal, through their newly-formed Castle Sports Group, in the coming weeks.

The family said they had "heartfelt gratitude" for the supporters' backing, and underlined their determination to get the deal over the line - including seeking a resolution to the club's debt to Purepay Retali Limited.
