Workington Reds and Carlisle City have today learned their opponents in the FA Trophy and FA Vase respectively.

The draws were announced by the Football Association earlier this afternoon.

Danny Grainger's Reds have been handed a home tie against Hyde United in the Trophy's third qualifying round.

The Greater Manchester club are in the same Northern Premier League Premier Division as Workington.

Hyde, managed by former Bolton Wanderers player Nicky Spooner, will visit Borough Park on Saturday, October 7.

The winners of the tie will get £2,450 in prize money with the losers receiving £625.

Carlisle City are also at home in the Vase's first round proper.

Jim Nichols' men will host Longridge Town on Saturday, October 21.

City earned their place in the first round through a 1-0 win at Newcastle Benfield on Saturday, with Sam Atkinson scoring the winner from the halfway line.

The Northern League Division One side now take on Lancashire outfit Longridge from the North West Counties Premier Division.

Victory in the first round game would land City £825, with £250 on offer in defeat.

City's fellow Cumbrian club Penrith were unable to join them in the first round draw.

Darren Edmondson's side went down 3-2 at Ryton & Crawcrook Albion.

Penrith had twice led, through goals from Luke Hunter and Matty Moynan, and looked set for a 2-1 victory only for their hosts to score twice after the 90-minute mark to win the second round qualifying tie.

Both Workington and Carlisle City are in action on Tuesday night, with Reds hosting Lancaster City in the league, and City at home to Carlisle United in the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup first round.
