CARLISLE United have been urged to dust themselves down after being defeated by Derby County by manager Paul Simpson.

Paul Warne's Rams put two past the Blues to secure their first victory in September and condemn Carlisle to their fourth defeat of the 23/24 League One campaign.

Next up for Carlisle in the league is a trip to Buckinghamshire to take on Wycombe, whose 3-1 defeat against Charlton Atheltic brought to an end their five-game unbeaten streak in the league.

Speaking about this trip to take on the Chairboys, Simpson explained how Carlisle must move past their defeat at the hands of Derby County.

"We shouldn't be going and fearing anybody, we can hold our own in these games.

"Last weekend at Lincoln against a side who were on good form, good home form particular, we went and made it a tough game for them.

"Wycombe will be another tough game but we have to got to roll our sleeves up, dust ourselves down, and get ready for another brilliant game that we honestly believe we can get three points out of."

The Carlisle United boss also shared a preliminary fitness update ahead of the Blues trip to Wycombe next weekend.

"I don't know at the moment, I think it is properly going to be too early for Ben [Barcaly] and for Dylan [McGeouch], and JJ [Kayode] gets his operation on Tuesday if everything still goes to plan so I am not expecting any additional people to add but we will see what the week brings."
