PAUL Simpson has said that he is 'disappointed' with Carlisle United's Brunton Park defeat against Derby County.

Paul Warne's Rams recorded their first win of September in Cumbria thanks to two goals from James Collins.

Despite falling to defeat, Carlisle has their chances to get back into the game after conceding early in the affair with Luke Plange and Jordan Gibson going closest for the Blues.

Speaking after the clash, Simpson spoke about the positives Carlisle can take from the result and argued that the Blues should have had their own spot-kick.

"Disappointed," He said.

"I thought first half we were in it, I thought we deserved to be at least level at half time, I thought we created some real good opportunities, I thought we caused them problems.

"We didn't have a bit of luck with Jordan Gibson's shot which goes through the keeper's hands and bounces off the crossbar and Luke Plange with the shot against the post.

"I have seen it back and I think it is a penalty for handball from Forsyth.

"I don't care what anybody says, he has stopped the cross going in with his arm and I think it is a penalty.

Despite a raft of positive signs in the first half, Simpson also detailed where he believed the Blues could have been better against Derby County.

"Second half we have not done enough," He said.

"We have not been able to continue with the good momentum we had built up in the first half and I thought they showed their experience, they showed their nous and in the end, it was a fairly comfortable second half for them."
