It will be a family affair when the Piataks take the stage at CUOSC’s members’ meeting on Sunday.

But they have stressed it will be more about the community should their hopes for the Blues materialise.

The Americans have confirmed they are in advanced negotiations over potential acquisition and investment in the Blues and they are looking forward to sharing their plans and vision with our members.

Florida-based logistics businessman Tom and his wife Patty will be joined by son Tom, his wife Alice, and their daughter Jenna and her fiancé Nick DeMasi when they speak to fans at The Halston in Carlisle.

They will explain what their investment could mean for the club and how they hope to help the Blues fulfil their full potential.

But they will also emphasise how keen they are on strengthening the bond between the club and the community. They know the importance of the club’s relationship with its fans and they hope to establish connections with local groups.

CUOSC have always believed the club should be valued by the community and, having talked to the Piataks over the last few months, we believe we are on the same wavelength.

After their presentation the family will take part in a question and answer session.

The meeting has attracted plenty of interest among fans and is a near sell-out already. Due to legal advice we have had to restrict it to members only.

During the meeting we will explain our position as shareholders and our involvement in the negotiations.

Over the last few weeks our membership has risen to 945, the highest it has been for some years, and not far off the 1,000 target we set at the start of the season.

Members who are unable to attend will have the opportunity to stream the meeting and will receive details by email nearer the time. If you haven’t been receiving emails please check your details are up to date on our website at www.cuosc.org.uk

Members can also submit questions by a form located on the website.

Following the meeting our shareholder members will have the chance to vote on a resolution that will contribute to the outcome of the proposed transaction. Any agreement would be subject to EFL approval.

While it is an important meeting for the Piatak family they haven’t forgotten there is a big game the day before. They are all expected to be at Brunton Park for the clash with Derby – the first league fixture between the clubs in 39 years.
