By Dan MacLennan - CUOSC vice-chair

As previously mentioned in recent weeks, we are holding an upcoming meeting with the potential investors into Carlisle United.

We can now confirm that this meeting will take place at 2pm on Sunday, September 24, at The Halston Hotel on Warwick Road in Carlisle.

We’re currently finalising the ticketing details and will be releasing this information shortly - please keep an eye out on both your email and our social media channels for this update!

We will also be organising a live stream of the meeting for those who will be unable to attend in person, again we’re just sorting the finer details and will release these soon.

We expect interest in this meeting to be extremely high, so make sure all your contact details are up to date via our membership portal HERE - so you don’t miss out on any news relating to it.

Not a member currently? You can join for only £10 for the season. Numbers are approaching 900 which is fantastic to see, the more members the bigger our voice on behalf of you, the blue army.

On the field, United finally secured their first three points of the season with a solid 2-0 win over Shrewsbury in front of yet another good home crowd. Indeed, after four home league fixtures, the average crowd is approaching 8,500 and with a glamour match against Derby County in a couple of weeks time another five figure turnout is possible.

Higher gates equal more money for Paul Simpson in the transfer windows, and despite what he himself described as one of the toughest windows he’s been involved in, he was able to secure a return on loan for popular striker Joshua ‘JJ’ Kayode to Brunton Park to bolster the striking ranks before the summer window closed last week.

Going back to the upcoming Derby match, Carlisle United Supporters Groups (CUSG) will be holding a bucket collection for supporter initiatives prior to kick off.

Please keep an eye out for volunteers collecting funds for projects agreed on by member groups, of which CUOSC is one. The group has plans for several projects in the pipeline, including some link ups with Tullie House, regarding memorabilia, of which a large amount has been donated by fans.
