Carlisle United fans gave us their reaction on Twitter after the Blues' 1-0 defeat at Oxford United.

Here is a selection of their views.

Good performance at the back and in midfield, however, wouldn’t have scored a goal if they were still playing by the time the fans get back to Carlisle… (@Snakeeyes7475)

Zero shots on goal sums it up. Zero chances created. Felt as though the game was there for the taking as Oxford looked very average. Back third, middle third looked good. Need a focal point up top ASAP please (@MartinCrellin1)

Chalk and cheese at opposite ends of the pitch. For large portions of the game we defended well but we look toothless at the other end. (@cufc_andy17)

Lots of promise and again showed we can compete at League One, but ultimately no final finish. Goals dried up towards the end of last season, and I don't feel there's any additional goal threat added to the squad. Needs addressing (@mikebcarlisle)

Some fairly good individual performances but as a team that second half was the worst I have seen us perform in some time. Utterly toothless in attack, desperately need a focal point or some sort of game plan when we get into the final third (@Guuuuuy)

Tight game - desperately need attacking threat. Had a choice at 65 mins and could have settled for a draw - sub on Barclay and Harris - instead went for same as - same as - conceded and lost. I'd have done for a draw - maybe nick one. At least don't look outclassed and out of place and taking a hammering. Just lack a spark /striker.(@McCarlisle1)

Think it’s glaringly obvious what’s the major issue. Two big home games next where we simply must win one of them. Early days for the panic, not like we’re losing 3-0 or 4-0 (@Invisiblebear84)

Far too early for some of the stupid obituaries being written. Oxford were just as poor as us but they scored, simple as that today! We need to find a formula up top, for me we can’t play Edmo alone - needs a partner. (@Jonnyreay)

Thought it was a poor team selection. Just couldn't see where the goals were coming from. I don't think Ryan Edmondson is ever gonna be the answer. Very few positives. We'll have to buck our ideas up or we're in for a right thumping on Tuesday. (@PaulLighty24910)

Nothing going forward (@keithelliott94)

A reality check (@fatflags)

We need a busy six-yard box man, simple.....not 17 midfielders ! Early days, not worried though, and two out of the other three teams promoted with us are below us (@LindaNi121202)

No, sorry, I’ve got nothing. Just like Simmo with his strike attack. (@JHallHDI)

Got nothing going forward. Need a striker desperately (@JoshFairhurst11)

Bland (@CUFCHalli)

Going to have to splash the cash to sign Luke Armstrong (@GeoffRo39583097)

Lifeless up top. Need Luke Armstrong it’s as simple as that (@cufcjoel)

Can our potential new investor buy Armstrong for us? (@CameronEllis_)
