Former Carlisle United striker Tobi Sho-Silva has made a move to the National League.

The forward, who was released by the Blues this summer, has joined Maidenhead United.

Sho-Silva's move to the Magpies was confirmed ahead of the start of the new season this weekend.

The 28-year-old makes the move to the York Road after a season-and-a-half with the Blues.

He could make his debut in Maidenhead's National League opener against AFC Fylde today in non-league's top tier.

Sho-Silva made 23 appearances for Carlisle, scoring four goals.

Those goals came during United's battle for survival in the second half of the 2021/22 season, the striker having joined from Sutton United that January.

He found the net against Colchester United, Rochdale, Northampton Town and Tranmere Rovers - all vital goals in the Cumbrians' successful fight for safety.

Injury limited him to ten appearances last season, his last outing coming in January against Newport County.

Sho-Silva was also a respected figure for his work in the community during his time at Brunton Park.

The former Charlton Athletic, Bromley, FC Halifax Town, Welling and Inverness Caledonian Thistle player was presented with the 2022/23 Community Champion award for his efforts.

Sho-Silva acted as a mentor for youth team players, gave regular talks and life-skills seminars and was involved with a number of community groups and local churches.
