Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger has bolstered his squad with two former Carlisle United youngsters.

Matty Bell and Hayden Tait have both signed for the Borough Park club.

The duo have been on trial with Workington and have now agreed deals ahead of the new NPL Premier season.

Bell was part of United's youth team for the last two seasons before being released at the end of his scholarship.

The full-back also captained the Blues' Under-18s.

Versatile Tait, meanwhile, was with United until the age of 16, after which he had spells at AFC Fylde and Penrith.

Both played in Reds' 3-1 pre-season win over Penrith at Borough Park on Tuesday night.

Bell, speaking on Reds' official channels said: "I've been enjoying it [at Reds] a lot and glad I've been offered a contract by Danny."

Goals from Steven Rigg, Bobby Carroll and Lewis Moore earned victory for Grainger's side in their latest pre-season outing, with Shane Dorwood replying for Darren Edmondson's Penrith.
